Awaken to Greatness

There is a song often sung in churches throughout the country. “How Great thou art” The lyrics express the awesomeness of Creation that can be observed in all things great and small. From the order in our vast solar system to the miracle of life everywhere. This awesomeness can be experienced too in the thousand acts of kindness and compassion that happen in our everyday living. The perfection, the love, the intelligence can be seen in every hand or heart that reaches out to extend love, peace, forgiveness. The greatness can be seen and felt if we have the eyes to see it and are open to receive it. We have made mistakes and forgotten the truth of who we are and often see little of greatness and wonder and miss out on so much. From one of my favorite books is an idea that beauty, peace and miracles are to be expected are natural and when we are not experiencing them something has gone wrong.
Some of the best things I have ever heard I learned at Religious Science. The teaching is referred to as “the religion of healthy mindedness”. We have a unique and intimate church in East Hollywood that meets weekly to discover or experience “How great YOU are!” From old time religions:. “You are established in goodness and greatness “ Perhaps you have never been told this, more likely you have forgotten. You have always done the best you could with the knowledge, the true awareness that you have had at any given time. As Oprah has said at different times.
” We can do more.” We can. You can. We can forgive ourselves for what we didn’t know. We can begin now to see it all differently . It begins with you. Challenge yourself today by dynamically making a decision to see what is good.( What you focus on expands.) Be determined to let go of lesser ideas for greater.
Some say it’s a matter of programming, that our life is a reflection of what we understand and or have thought to be true. Maybe as a child, you didn’t know or grow up feeling the greatness that is your true nature, the connection you have to all that is wonderful. Maybe no one tells you how wonderful you are still.
